IPMBA - May 2010

In May, Mad March coaches Shaums March, Tamara Peloquin and Derrick Maready, brought a new urban focused training to bicycle patrol officers in St. Louis, MO for the International Police Mountain Bike Association (IPMBA) 3rd Annual National Conference.

Over a three day period, Mad March coaches offered five programs for beginner through advanced level riders focusing on conserving energy, having more strength in pursuit and creating a larger, more authoritative image while patrolling on the bike.

The sessions featured a unique training program developed by both Shaums March and IPMBA called the MMR-IPMBA Core Skills and Scenarios Clinic. This new program is a combination of IMIC techniques and police training methods designed to improve and enhance bicycle handling skills using practical demonstrations put into context for the officers’ day-to-day situations.

The success of the MMR-IPMBA Core Skills and Scenarios Clinic has led to a long-term partnership between IPMBA and Mad March and we look forward to working with everyone again soon.
