Salt Lake City, UT, USA West

IMIC Ride Leader, IMIC Instructor

Gale Dahlager started riding mountain bikes to stay in shape for skiing where she was competing in moguls.

After 3 years of racing cross country, she discovered downhill racing which proved to be much more her forte. Gale switched from moguls skiing to skier-x in the winters where she competed in the ESPN X-Games and NBC Gravity Games before leaving competitive skiing to focus on mountain bike racing.

Gale raced 9yrs at the pro level for downhill, dual slalom and mountain cross, making the US National team in ‘03 & ‘04 for World Championships, before retiring from full-time racing. She has won many regional and state titles in her career.

She is still active in the freeride and dirt jumping scene, becoming one of the few women to land back flips on a mountain bike, and participating in any women’s jump jams or freeride contests that she can. She still loves to ride both downhill and cross country whenever given the chance, and enjoys coaching more than competing these days.

Gale continues her quest to get more women involved in mountain biking, especially in the dirt jump/freeride scene, and to help all women realize that when any one of us achieves something, we are all better because of it.
