Bob Brien

IMIC Ride Leader, IMIC Instructor

East Coast

Bob has over 20+ years competing on BMX/freestyle, dirt jumping and mountain bikes, and he enjoys riding and/or racing every chance he can, always looking to get more people into the sport. Along with his on-the-bike skills, Bob has 22 years experience of working in bike shops (as a mechanic, sales person, manager, and even owner for a period of time), and enjoys the technical side of the sport, knowing that proper bike set up and maintenance is essential to the whole riding experience. (He even checks his tire pressure with a digital gauge.)

Bob has had a successful racing career racking up many podium finishes in downhill and dual slalom, including winning both the 2007 USAC downhill and dual slalom national championship races at Mount Snow, VT.

He is easily recognized and usually shows up at the start line with a clean bike and fresh race gear (even at a mud/rain race). He also likes to push himself to try to find new lines whether on the downhill or dual slalom courses, while street riding, at the skatepark, or at the dirt jumps.

Bob states: Im very grateful to be given the opportunity to coach with MMR and to pass on my skills, knowledge and love of bicycle riding to others.
